Cornus: Reviews & Ratings

So impressed with Cornus, we were a group of six in the private dining room. We all had the tasting menu and brought our own wines along. Corkage here is very reasonable at £20 All the dishes were outstanding but the handpicked Devin crab, with avocado, wasabi and ginger lime gel was the absolute standout dish for me. The best crab dish I’ve ever eaten and still dreaming about it. The tasting menu was mainly fish, but the cooking was so elegant and fresh, but still packed full of flavour Superb Riedel glassware, service was outstanding Can’t praise this restaurant enough Also praise from the vegetarians in our group on their food

Five stars no doubt! Exceeding expectations by all means. The menu was meticulously designed and executed with precision and passion. Two cooked fish courses were slightly unusual on a tasting menu, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Brill and cod were so tender and intact at the same time; I'm still struggling to tell which one is my favourite. Lamb was the climax of the menu showcasing 5 different cuts different taste different textures of one meat. It was not merely a concept of presenting the produce on earth and with variations; also exceptional culinary skills and creativity. Another thing I loved about their hot dishes were the temperature, just right on point and consistent throughout. This might sound silly, but this basic requirement could have been easily overlooked when so many ingredients needed to be presented, and it required absolute good kitchen coordination to get it just right. Desserts tasted great. Also loved their colour coordination. The overall menu was pacing out nicely, and each dish had the right portion size to keep your appetite to the end. Very good value for money. Friendly front-of-house staff. Good potential to get another star.

A well deserved Michelin star. It is a brilliant restaurant offering a focused menu with excellent flavours combinations, presentation and service. The atmosphere was relaxed and calm when we visited for lunch. The pricing is also perfect at £60 per person for a 3 course lunch menu. It is so nice to see proper cooking done well and I strongly recommend this restaurant. Overall, 5 star review from me and hope to visit again soon.

Nestled discreetly at 27c Eccleston Place in London, Cornus is a fine dining gem that demands discovery. This Michelin-starred restaurant offers an exquisite tasting menu that weaves together precision, seasonality, and elegant simplicity, showcasing a refined mastery over ingredients and technique.

From the first bite, Cornus captivates. The standout handpicked Devon crab dish, enriched with creamy Hass avocado and brightened by wasabi and finger lime pearls, perfectly balances freshness and subtle heat, leaving a lasting impression that lingers like a well-kept secret. The seafood courses, including the delicate seabass tartare with oyster cream, green apple, and shiso, epitomize oceanic purity enriched by lively herbaceous notes.

The landward journey through the menu is no less impressive. The roasted Highland venison, tender and rich, is paired thoughtfully with glazed chicory, sour beetroot, celeriac, and Madagascan pepper, crafting a dish that harmonizes rustic depth with refined finesse. The culinary storytelling continues with the foie gras terrine, silky and luxurious, uplifted by Mouneyrac pears and golden raisins, expertly balanced by a touch of Sauternes and served alongside toasted brioche.

The desserts continue this narrative of balance and creativity. The lemon tart and chocolate soufflé provide uplifting, vibrant finishes, while offerings like the plum, sake, and vanilla sandwich or the intricate chocolate and hazelnut mille-feuille delight with textures and subtle sweetness. Complementing the courses, the curated selection of Prosecco and bespoke cocktails elevate the experience, rounding the journey through Cornus’ kitchen artistry.

What truly sets Cornus apart is its thoughtful approach to pacing, temperature, and portion size, ensuring each dish arrives just right and the overall meal flows effortlessly. Service is attentive yet unobtrusive, preserving a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, particularly in the private dining setting. With reasonable corkage fees and an accommodating stance toward dietary needs, Cornus exemplifies gracious hospitality as much as culinary brilliance.

In essence, dining at Cornus is more than a meal—it is a celebration of craftsmanship, seasonal produce, and artful composition. Each plate tells a carefully composed story that invites reflection and appreciation long after the last bite.
